Renewing our committment and reminiscing the past years. Getting stronger and united as one. As years have gone by, the future is vivid ....... there is no turning back! We shall move on and fulfill our long time dreams

We shall not let the next generation suffer the same fate as the previous one. "United we stand, divided we shall fall ........ brothers and friends forever!"

We came and go, parted our ways to distant places, we worked hard and sweat a lot of blood and tears .......... this is all for our families for them to enjoy and give our children the best education there is. But, did we ever consider to ourselves what was the catalyst behind our drive in fulfillment of that dream???

"No man is an island", they say ............. and that's true because long before we had our families we have the Liping Maharlika as one. We spent most of our youthful days building and shaping ourselves within the framework of the Liping Maharlika, as leaders and managers in our own professions and businesses. She gave us all the catalyst and vivid future of what we should do to improve our lives and for our brothers as well as for out country - "OUR IDEALS!"

Now that one of our brother has committed himself to our cause by building the physical structure for our home office and gymnasium ............ what can we share and probably do??? For me .......... I will build the structure in my heart and carry it over to wherever it may destined me to go!



Sharing our experiences, exchanging pleasantries and ideas, planning the next project and fulfilling our commitment .......... are just some of the things we usually do during our Reunion. But the question we always have in our hearts is ............. how far are we committed???



We part our ways into distant land in pursuit of greener pasture and fulfill our dreams. However, we always comeback to our homeland not only to visit our relatives but probably to reminisce the past. We try to see the difference how far we have succeed in life in fulfillment of that dream. Now it's time to share ................... move on Maharlikans!

The Challenge continues!

This is only the beginning ........

To reminisce the past ......... is to recall the things that we don't like you to experience nor go through the same process of heartaches and hardships. We reminisce them so that we will not repeat the same cycle again and make a better way of learning experience as new horizon of wisdom that you may carry-on to the next generation. Ideals are imbibed in your hearts and let them be the guidance to your learning.

We are not also perfect in our ways, in deeds and teaching, but we strive to be best. So learn the good things from us and remember not our misgivings and imperfections we have. Let them serve as your guide between a positive and a negative outcome in your life. For they shall be the determinant of what is a success and a failure.


If you want to become a Liping Maharlika ........ now is the time to decide which way to pursue and aspire. Because if you choose to be ........ we shall be honored but this is only the beginning!

Take your time ......... search in your heart, to be a Maharlika is not just joining our group nor how many tournaments you've won. It is accomplishing the mission setforth before you, i.e. finish your studies, get a decent job and service to God, your community and country. Then comeback to us and help us carry our mission and vision setforth before us.

The first strike ........ shall be the last! So shout loud and harness the power within you, for they shall give you the strength and stamina to face the obstacles in your life. They shall be the source of you power in the tournament.

Now is the time to take advantage ......... you have measured your opponent and found his Achilles tendon. Don't look back and this is the best strike to deliver, they are fatal and usually disabling. You won ...... but this is only the beginning of the next bout!

Strike hard ....... like this! I may be a woman but I bet I can strike better than yours. Place your empty hand in front of your chest because they are your assests in disabling your opponents cane. That is the secret of movements within the radius of your body to be able to move fast like lightning.

On-guard ....... expect for better, prepare for the worst! For there is nothing easy in this world. Without sweat, there is no hardship and hardship gives meaning to success. Are you ready to face the next bout? Remember ......... this is only the beginning!

Is this the way to do it???? Prepare for my strike for if I may miss it, I may be easily subdued. So there is no room for error but perfection of technique. How can I perfect it then? ..........

You see guys ........ the perfection of technique lies in your desire to practice constantly and keep your body and spirit always healthy and in unison. Practice .......... practice .......... practice and be a disciplined sportsman.


For us, we teach and play because we want our body and spirit as healthy as we want. This is our outlet for our stress in our daily job and responsibilities. This is only the beginning of our next stage in our lives!

Look at the young turks my lad, do you think you perform better than them! Patience my lad, you still have so many hurdles to go. The goals setforth before you can only be achieved with dedication and discipline. But never falter because we are always around to help and guide you …….. that is our mission!

We are face with a new challenge! So let us not compare the ages but rather work out their skills and build them at their advantage ........ for learning arnis knows not ages. Arnis is for all ....... young or old; rich or poor; unlettered or professional ...... this is your legacy and your birth right! "The spirit of your Filipino culture!"

You are all very lucky, my lad because these teachers you have are extra-ordinary people and dedicated to their vision. This is Professor Maria Luz Arroyo, a seasoned lady with big heart who shares her vast knowledge in her field of sports. So never miss to get her instructions because they are all meant for you.

And here is another Maharlika, Mr. Alex Dela Cruz. Like Professor Arroyo, he is a seasoned arnisador by winning the "World Middleweight Division" during the 1st WEKAF Invitational in 1989. A successful professional working in a foreign embassy. A very busy and family oriented person but still find time to share his expertise with you guys. So grab that oppportunity because this is a rarity.

My lad, that is not the way to do it. You will not last long in this kind of training without your fingers. So take my advise and play safely and position yourself at your advantage and not be beaten black-and-blue nor loose your precious fingers.

Listen well and follow it according to the basics. They shall be your foundation to the next level. Be patient with them and understand them well that all this things are for your own well being. Who knows this may even save the lives of loved ones or yours. Godo Corpin is here to assist you with his instructor Alex Dela Cruz.

This is the way to do it so practice to execute well. The technique lies on your desire to learn it by heart. So be patient my lad because teaching sometimes is monotonous and tiresome.

Okay, take my command and follow me. Be sure not to hit me in the back or else ........ we will end up in the hospital! Listen very keenly so you can follow my execution.

Today, arnis has advance to a level where it can hold it’s own among the martial arts of the world. Truly Filipino in origin and spirit it remains as one of our most precious legacies from the past.
